Vampires are totally hot right now – films, books, TV, the 40th birthday of Sesame Street… Everyone thinks this is brilliant and sexy and dangerous in a safe, fictional kind of way. It is none of those things. Not only do vampires feed on blood, they also feed on publicity. As a result of the recent media surge, they are becoming stronger and stronger. Look at this one, waiting to get the train from platform 6 of London Bridge station on Saturday afternoon, brazen as you like…

Whilst he does indeed look like a vampire from behind, it is in fact daylight in the photograph, therefore he cannot be a real vampire (otherwise he would be a pile of dust on the floor). I didn't watch Buffy for all those years without learning something ...
That is what I mean when I say they're getting stronger! They are totally unbothered by a bright, sunny day. Also, there seems to be no vampire/daylight issue in True Blood...
It's only bloody Alan Rickman, on his way home from the set of the latest Harry Potter having forgotten to change out of his Severus Snape suit.
I hope the garlic thing still works. I carry a piece of garlic bread with me whenever I go out, these days. It's stale but pungent. You can't be too careful, eh Miss Jones?
